Is it even St. Patrick’s Day if you’re not wearing and consuming the signature colour that marks this Irish holiday: green?
Legend has it that if you don’t want to be pinched, you ought to be wearing green on this day. But let’s take things a bit further and swap green food-coloured beer for a bright green cocktail.
This recipe is full of tropical flavour, so be sure to pin this page for the summer. Or any time you want to remember being on vacation in the Caribbean because it would make a perfect poolside sipper.
Pineapple and orange juice both come together here, so if you’re able to find fresh versions of each, it’ll highlight the flavours even more. And because they’re both key ingredients, I like to use either a slice of fresh orange or a pineapple wedge for garnish. Here, I chose an orange slice for a classic Irish colour combo, green and orange.
My recipe below makes one drink, which can be served in a tall collins or hurricane glass. To make a crowd sized portion, mix all ingredients in a pitcher and multiply by four and serve in lowball glasses. Your guests will want more than one glass of this concoction, so the smaller serving sizes will come in handy for keeping tabs on the alcohol portions in this potent punch.
