Fresh Valentine’s Home Decor for a New Decade

For this Valentine’s day, I was inspired to keep my colour palette a bit lighter than last year. In the first week of 2020 I purchased Gretchen, my rubber plant (pictured below) which led me to a more natural, airy configuration for the shelves. Of course, what’s Valentine’s Day without a few pops of fuchsia?

One of my favourite elements to continue to incorporate season after season are my Pantone printables that I originally posted last year for Easter. I love using them as a set or picking one single colour to “paint” the white shelves.

Those same Ikea square frames are so versatile. They are easily my go-to frames for absolutely anything from dressing the living room to party signs and everything in between.

Here, I’ve framed a few Valentine cards that I’ve collected over the years from the One of a Kind Show here in Toronto, shops around the city and of course Homesense.

There’s plenty of pink from around my house to choose from, which made this bookcase setup so much fun.

Shopping my closet, I borrowed a Tory Burch purse (which is in my favourite shade of nude blush to go with nearly everything I own).

To bring out some extra touches of gold, I included a few of my favourite scents to display alongside a Nest reed diffuser in a delightfully fresh floral scent.

And of course, anchoring the bold pops of colour I reached into my yarn closet to pull out various shades of pink, purple, maroon and white to display in various vases and cake stands that serve double duty in this house.

What are your thoughts on this living room setup? How does it compare to my previous creative renditions throughout the years? Let me know in the comments below.

Happy Valentine’s Day xo
