Vibrant and Cheerful Easter Decor for Small Spaces

It’s almost time for chocolate bunnies to hop into our lives for Easter. This year, most of us will be celebrating a little bit differently while we’re in quarantine, but that doesn’t have to limit the celebration. As you probably know by now, I love decorating my bookshelves for just about every holiday, and Easter is by far the most bright and colourful occasion of the year.

Because we’re in self-imposed isolation right now in Canada, I wasn’t able to browse the stores like I usually do each season.

While I’m a huge advocate for reducing consumption and reusing decor, I usually walk the aisles of Homesense or Crate and Barrel to get inspiration for the season. Sometimes, I even pick up a new piece to add to my collection.

But this year was different for all of us, and so I really had to hunker down and challenge my creativity to use only things I had already to make a whole new Easter setup. Except the gold Lindt bunnies, those I did manage to pickup on our weekly grocery run.

My Letterfolk letter board is always in the living room. I love how easy it is to change out the quote or saying, depending on the time of year. It’s like a real-life card for the house. Witty messages, funny puns, love notes to my cat, it’s a great tool to do it all.

Up top is my beautiful orange teapot. Almost a decade ago I picked this teapot up at Value Village (a local thrift shop) and I’ve absolutely loved it ever since. I use it all the time for steeping actual tea, but it also makes great decor. Double duty items like this teapot and my many cake stands are great pieces to have for function and for fun.

To add even more colour to this setup, I brought back my favourite DIY art prints, the free Pantone chip printables I posted for last Easter. They have been a go-to season after season either alone (like this past Valentine’s day) or as a set.

The three water color prints of ladies holding flowers were found amongst my stash of greeting cards. I’m a huge fan of watercolours. It’s such a wonderful thing to rediscover lost gems in your own home.

Whether you’re celebrating this Easter the way you always do or if it won’t be so familiar, I hope you make the most of your celebration. I encourage you to cook a special brunch, eat some chocolate, or have a traditional Easter dinner. Take the opportunity to try new traditions. This Easter will be memorable, why not make it a happy memory?

Hoppy Easter from this little somebunny!
